Coed Varsity Track · Cheeseboro and West are Lexington County Champions

Shandora Cheeseboro is the Lexington County Champion in the 100 and 400 meter hurdles.  She placed 2nd in the Long and Triple Jump.  Ty-Layshia West won the shot put with a new county record of 40’2.5″ and placed 2nd in the discus.  Lauren Caughman placed in the top 8 in four events.  She finished 2nd in the pole vault, 4th in the high jump, 5th in the 400 hurdles and was a member of the 4×400 meter relay team that placed 6th.  Other members of the 4×400 meter relay team were Catherine Bedenbaugh, McKenzie Gary, and Sacadia Jackson.  Nyfashia Merrit finished 2nd in the shot put and her teammate  Jazmine Johnson finished 7th.  In the discus Avonlea Smith placed 3rd and Christina Oswald placed 4th.  The girls 4×800 meter relay placed 7th and the team members were Catherine Bedenbaugh, Anna Gonzales, Liza Rios, and Emma Williams.  The girls 4×100 meter relay team placed 8th with McKenzie Gary, Elle Quarles, Tiana Tolen, and Elianna Whitt.

Daijohn Coleman-Scott lead the boys placing in three events.  Coleman-Scott placed 4th in the 400 meters, 8th in the triple jump and was a member of the 4×400 meters relay.  Other members of the relay team were Zadrian Burgess, Keshaun Williams, and Tyreese Green. Tijan Abney finished 4th in the 110 and 400 meter hurdles.  Danquarius Jennings placed 4th in the discus and 7th in the shot put. Qua’Jae Wigfall finished 2nd in the High Jump.  Wells Hallman finished 5th in the discus and Caden Bundrick tied for 8th in the pole vault.  The boys 4×800 team placed 6th with Abney, Zafir Brown, Justin Castro and Damazhanay Long.

The Panther Throwers will be in action this Saturday at Spring Valley for the Bojangles Classic.
