Batesburg-Leesville Panthers Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Batesburg-Leesville Panthers Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-1 loss to Midland Valley on Monday. Midland Valley scored on a single by DJ Boyd and a double by Joseph Johnson in the first inning.
Midland Valley took an early lead in the first inning. DJ Boyd drove in one when he singled in the first inning.
Midland Valley scored five runs in the second inning. Midland Valley’s big inning was driven by a error, a triple by Boyd, and a single by Joseph Johnson.
Brenden Moyer earned the win for Midland Valley. He threw three and two-thirds innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out two. Quez Mckeiver took the loss for Batesburg-Leesville Panthers Varsity. He tossed four innings, allowing eight runs, eight hits, and walking one.
Parker Eargle led Batesburg-Leesville Panthers Varsity with two hits in two at bats.
Midland Valley had 11 hits in the game. Boyd, Johnson, Brandon Paradise, and Logan Pate each collected multiple hits for Midland Valley. Midland Valley didn’t commit a single error in the field. Seth Richardson had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
