Batesburg-Leesville Panthers Varsity’s effort to come back from down eight runs in the second inning came up just short, as they fell 18-17 to Ninety Six on Monday. Batesburg-Leesville Panthers Varsity scored 16 runs in the failed comeback on a triple by Kiara Quattlebaum in the third, a home run by Jaylah Barr in the third, a groundout by Kelsey Long in the third, a single by Caroline Bedenbaugh in the third, a triple by Taleah Tolen in the fourth, a groundout by Long in the fourth, a home run by Quattlebaum in the sixth, a single by Barr in the sixth, and a single by Amie Johnson in the seventh.
Batesburg-Leesville Panthers Varsity was right in it until Ninety Six singled in the seventh inning.
